JoAnn "Jody" Dixon, 85 of Seguin, passed away on June 11, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Andy Taylor and Rev. Jim Craver officiating. A private interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery at a later date. Jody was born on August 19, 1931 in Seguin to Adolph and Erna (Jubela) Solmky. She was a graduate of Seguin High School and Texas Lutheran College. Jody met her husband, Gene in San Antonio through mutual friends, and they spent over 40 years together, raising their family. Jody was the long-time manager of South Texas Printing, and more recently, worked for the Chamber of Commerce. She was also a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. Jody, will always be remembered as a champion Bridge player who was naturally gifted at the game. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene C. Dixon; daughter, A'Lisa Seleen; her parents; sisters, Alice Solmky, Margaret Koennecke, Grace Saegert, and Esther Solmky. Jody is survived by her son, Charles, "Chuck" Dixon, and wife, DeeDee; son-in-law, Glenn Seleen, and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Ashley Daniels, and husband, James, Brandi Brown, and husband, Jonathan, Ashley Tamez-Christian, and husband, Felix; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and many friends.
