Obituary

JoAnn Naumann also loving referred to as "Jammie" by family and "the Snowcone Lady" by Seguin residents, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017. Visitation will be held on Monday, November, 27, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10Am at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Stanley Naumann of Seguin; daughter Krista of Seguin; daughter and son-in-law Emryss and Jeff Winkler of Houston; stepchildren Jesse Naumann of San Marcos and Natalie Naumann of Seguin; grandson and wife Landon and Dakota Lewis of Austin; sister Vola Ruth Moore of Stamford; and nieces, Jennifer Price of Big Spring, DeeDawn McCormack of Dalhart, Teresa Steele and Peggy Riley of Abilene.
JoAnn was born in the small town of Rotan, Texas in 1943 to Walter and Mary (DeShazo) Ratliff. She grew up and attended school in Roby, TX. By 1963 she was a resident of Abilene and a few years later relocated to Stamford. After a few short years in Oklahoma, she relocated to Seguin in the mid 1980's.
JoAnn always desired to live in a warm climate on the river and Seguin fit the bill! Wanting to be an entrepreneur, Joann started her own business in Seguin "Hawaiian Shaved Ice." It was at this time she met her future husband, Stanley. He owned the building that would become Hawaiian Shaved Ice. The snow cone business was known far and wide as having the best shaved ice around. Even all the way to Chicago via a radio talk show. JoAnn and Stanley's work ethic made the business a success. They knew what it took and they gave 100% and it definitely showed.
This December they would have celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Throughout their marriage besides working together they traveled extensively. The locales included Japan, Egypt, Costa Rica, Turkey, and many domestic destinations.
JoAnn was also very instrumental in helping raise her only grandchild, Landon. When he was beginning to speak he gave JoAnn the nickname Jammie, then Stanley became Toasty. The two became Toast and Jam to those closest to them. JoAnn or Mom will be missed tremendously. All who met her wanted to be her friend. We, her family, were blessed to have her first in our family and later on as our best friend. Her support, grace, kindness, but mostly, her love will be missed but never forgotten. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Naumann, Ken Jandt, Ron Naumann, Landon Lewis, Jeff Winkler, and Justin O'Neil.
