Joann Iltis Richardson passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Joann was born in Seguin, Texas, on January 31, 1934, and married the love of her life, Bob Richardson, on February 10, 1953. They lived happily in a bond of powerful love for 64 years until his death in 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents Joe and Ida Wernette Iltis, sister Dorothy Tschoepe, son Brian Richardson, daughter-in-law Sandy McCleod Richardson and her granddaughter Jamie Richardson.

Joann aka Gramom, is survived by her sister Mickey Hartikka and husband Arnie, three children Steve Richardson and his wife Debby, Chris Richardson and his wife Nancy, Tracy Ginn and her husband Mike, and her daughter-in-law Gerry Richardson.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jennifer Gressett and husband Rodney, Jacie McHaney and husband Andy, Landrie Waldron and husband John, Rianna Richardson, Brittany Pickering and husband Chris, Ruston Richardson and his wife Karina, Garrett Wright, Jessica Edler, and Juan Menchaca along with her precious great-grandchildren and nieces.

Joann graduated from Seguin High School in 1952 and was voted Miss SHS and Most Beautiful. Joann & Bob were also voted Class Sweethearts. After raising four children, she returned to college, and graduated from TLC cum laude as an English major.

Joann went on to teach at Seguin High school for 32 years and retired in 2003. She was voted best teacher several times. She was beloved by her family, friends, and students for her tough discipline and her sharp wit, but mostly for her beautiful love and wisdom, which she shared with all.

Joann's celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 24, 2024 at the Silver Center in Seguin.
