Joanne E. Witschorke, age 72 of Marion, passed away on July 21, 2016. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Joe Wold officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Marion. Joanne was born on July 23, 1943 in Coryell County to John Daniels and Ona Haeferkamp Daniels Lange. Joanne devoted her life to church ministries, teaching, Boot Scooters, spending time with her Rent-a-friends, playing bridge, and spoiling her dogs. Time spent with her family, especially her grandson, Seth, filled her with joy. In her final years she also enjoyed sitting on her front porch and watching her roses bloom.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Pastor James Edward (Jim) Witschorke, her father, and her step-father, Ervin Lange. Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Witschorke; son, Stephen Witschorke and wife Allison; beloved grandson, Seth Witschorke; mother, Ona Lange; sister, Mary Lee Mertz and husband Bobby; brother, Alan Lange; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Lange, Chris Harborth, Bubba Kunde, Phil Sierer, and Ernie Kropp. Honorary pallbearer will be Seth Witschorke.
