Joe Hilger age 85 of Seguin, formerly of Dallas, passed away on August 27, 2014. The recitation of the holy rosary will be recited on, Friday, September 5, 2014 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, followed by the mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Joe was born on February 1, 1929 in Dallas Texas to Carl A. and Juanita Katherine (Jones) Hilger. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He farmed land in Troop Texas and grew nursery stock. He and his brother Carl had a nursery and landscape company in Dallas. Upon retirement Joe moved to Seguin. Joe was an active member of the Catholic Church and was proud to have been a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his nephew, Mike Hilger and his wife Martha.
