Joel Newman, age 85 of Seguin, passed away on March 20, 2021.  Joel was born on September 2, 1935 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to Ardist B. and Bessie Faye (Banks) Newman.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy Wayne Newman and sisters, Jeannette Powdrill, Jeannell Hannah and Jeanness Denman. He is survived by wife, Marjorie Newman; sister, Jim Ada Waley; stepsons, Joe Peek and Bill Peek and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10 a.m.  Private interment will be held at a later date.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kara Daniel, Hannah White, Rylan Barton, James Barton, Mia Daniel, Preston Daniel and honorary pallbearer, Wayland White.

All CDC protocols must be followed including social distancing, limited seating and face coverings requested.
