John C. De La Garza, age 47 of Seguin, joined our Lord and Savior and his beloved brother, Michael De La Garza, on August 10, 2018. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 beginning at 5:30 with the recitation of the Holy rosary at 7PM at St. James Catholic Church. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. John was born on June 15, 1971 in Seguin TX., to Juan M. and Emma (Martinez) De La Garza. John was a fearless man, volunteering to join the Air Force in 1989, where he served our country in the Persian Gulf War, as well as Desert Storm. He was a devoted family man who cared deeply about his parents, and sacrificed much for his family. John is preceded in death by his brother, grandparents David and Grace De La Garza, and Apolonio and Josie Martinez, uncles, Armando De La Garza and James De La Garza, and great aunt, Pauline Castilleja. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, although they have shared love for 24 years, Dianne De La Garza; parents, Juan M. and Emma De La Garza; children, Devon Johnson, Jacob De La Garza and wife Bonnie, Jordan Michael De La Garza, D 'Layna De La Garza, and Daciana De La Garza; uncle, Edward Davila and wife Haydee; cousin, Jeff Martinez and wife Sonia, and many other cousins, and loving family members. John was an outdoorsmen, he loved to fish, grill, and drink cold Miller Lite with his buddies, and he was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. John will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, his goofiness, and although he couldn't keep a beat he loved Tejano music. John will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Serving as pallbearers are, Jeff Martinez, Jerry Mata, David De La Garza, Robert Delany, Edward Davila, James Robledo. And honorary pallbearer, Rey De La Garza. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
