John Adna Evans, Sr., age 70 of Kingsbury, passed away on October 28, 2011 after a brief illness. Memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Seguin with Rev. Steve Purdy officiating. A reception will follow in the Christian Life Center. Private interment will be held at a later date at the Old Nixon Cemetery. John was born on October 3, 1941 in Tulare, California to Donald and Mary Chessher Evans. He grew up in Seguin among a large family. After graduating from Seguin High School in 1961, he married his high school sweetheart Sharon Dean Brenner and was employed with National Cash Register until opening his own water well business. John operated his water well business until 1995 when he retired to his families' ranch on Nash Creek. John spent his final years living on Nash Creek and visiting with friends at the Coffee Shop in Luling. John and Sharon raised three loving children who will miss their father dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Gay Evans Thorson and brother, Gary Evans. Survivors include his children, Debbie Evans Hanse and husband Mark, John A. Evans, Jr., Kelly Dean Evans and Nathan Armstrong; grandsons, Kody Kasch Hanse and Kyle Matthew Hanse; brother, Alan Evans and wife Winnie; aunt, Thea Chessher; former wife and friend, Sharon Brenner; brother-in-law, John Thorson; nieces, Patty Evans and Tina Cabello and husband Cisco; nephews, James Evans and wife Jamie, and Cory Thorson and wife Camaron; special friends, Bennie and Linda Engelke and their family; numerous other loving relatives and friends; John was a generous caring person who loved his family, friends and the great State of Texas.
