John V. Garcia, age 48 of Seguin, passed away on September 21, 2014. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 930 a.m. for the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. John was born in Plainview, Texas on March 22, 1966 to Andres and Elisa (Villanueva) Garcia. He was a 1985 graduate of Seguin High School and was proud to have been a part of the Mighty Matadors Football Team. John loved the University of Texas Longhorns and was one of their number one fans. He is preceded in death by his father and brother and sister-in-law, Domingo and Mary Lou Garcia. Survivors include his children, Matthew Ryan Garcia, Lexie Garcia and Braysen Garcia; mother, Elisa V. Garcia; brothers and sisters, Gilbert Garcia and wife Rosemary, Emma Perez and husband Benny, Andres Garcia, Jr. and wife Josie, Wanda Garcia, Rosa Martinez and husband Javier, Carmelita Martinez and husband Armando, Elisa (Helen) Cruz and husband Johnny, Jacob Garcia and wife Patricia; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Martin Vera, Jacob V. Garcia, Sr., Johnny Cruz, Ryan Garcia, Pete Valdez, Joey Valdez, Justin T. Marmolejo and Luis Garcia.
