John Thomas Lee died peacefully on January 18, 2019.  John was born in Chattanooga, TN to Allen Franklin Lee and Mabel Blakemore Lee on March 28, 1921. John attended the University of Chattanooga for 2 years before war broke out and he volunteered for the US Army. After the war, he was at Nuremberg before returning to finish his degree at the University of Tennessee. After marrying Marjorie Joyce Lyle, they had three sons. He had a long career with DuPont in various US locations culminating with an assignment in Wilmington Delaware. Service projects with his church and other charitable foundations were always a part of his life and sustained him when his wife Marjorie passed soon after retirement. In 1993, he married Joyce Kelso Willis of San Antonio and they were blessed with 25 years of joyful companionship. In San Antonio he was a member of the Order of the Alamo and the San Antonio Country Club.  John is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, brother (Allen) and sister (Blanche), stepson (John) and a Grandchild (Daryl). John is survived by his wife Joyce, sons Timothy, Douglas (Nancy), and John Scott (Rob), step daughter Joyce Ann (Don), Grandchildren Amanda (Matt), Katherine (Nathan), step grandchilden Leanne (Bryce), Molly(Danilo), Jennifer(Mason) and great grandchildren Leigh, Endie and Makeda.  A private service celebrating John's life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 11 St. Luke's Lane, San Antonio, 78209, or charities of choice.
