John Allen Wilmoth, age 68 of Seguin, formerly of Uvalde, passed away on August 9, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Seguin with Rev. Ron Welborn and Rev. Andy Smith officiating. John was born on April 6, 1948 in Bastrop, Louisiana to Thomas and Roberta (Walker) Wilmoth. John was a peace officer and worked in criminal justice for the probation department in Uvalde and San Angelo. Above all, John was a family man. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and taking trips across country on his motorcycle with his beloved wife Christine. He also devoted time animal rescue and adopted many of the pit bulls that were placed with him. He is preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving wife, Christine; children, Melanie Chavez and husband Saul, Melody Vernor and husband Carroll, Cory Nelson and wife Caroline, Aaron Nelson, Shalan Judd and husband Bryan; grandchildren C.K. Hutcherson and fiancée Sarah, T.J. Hutcherson, Micah and Anna Vernor; Taylor, Makenna, and Jared Nelson, Grant and Bryce Judd,; 1 great-granddaughter; brother Tommy Wilmoth and wife ZoeAnn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
