Johnny Kinsfather, age 60, of Canyon Lake, passed away on August 17, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. John Ryan Kinsfather officiating. Graveside services with police honors to follow at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels. Johnny was born on May 3, 1955 in New Braunfels, Texas to Amel John and Minnie B. (Lester) Kinsfather. Johnny joined the Seguin Police Department in 1977 where he served for 30 ½ years, retiring as Detective Sergeant. In 2010, he then joined the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Department as a full time Deputy Sheriff. Johnny is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Susi Kinsfather; sons Ryan Kinsfather and wife Rashelle, Cary Kinsfather and wife Lauren; step-daughter Courtney Katz and husband Carter; grandchildren, Noah Kinsfather, Asher and Ethen Katz; mother, Minnie Kinsfather; sisters Jan Wyer, Joyce Clayton and husband James, Judy Dolgner and husband Sam, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Serving as pall bearers will be Ryan Kinsfather, Cary Kinsfather, Willie Ybarra, Terry Pflugrath, Jerral Wyer, and Randall Laney. Honorary pall bearers will be Carl Franzen, Judge Darrell Hunter, Fred Pfeil, Danny Castillo, Seth Burgoon, Jim Boeck, Gene Rapp, Harold Burns, Sheriff Arnold Zwicke, Capt. Tom Meeley, Mark Zoboroski, Billy Rodriguez, and Bo Allen. Memorial Contributions in Johnny's honor may be made to the Motor Division c/o the Seguin Police Department, 350 N.
