Johnny "Boy" Sassenhagen, age 58 of Seguin passed away on December 5, 2013. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary beginning at 6 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. The mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Johnny was born on August 5, 1955 in Seguin Texas to Willie and Tomasita Rodriguez Sassenhagen. "Boy" loved life, whether it be going fast down the quarter mile on the race track or deep in the mud of a tractor pull track, driving as fast as possible and winning made him happy. His motto was "Don't worry be Happy". His parents precede him in death. Survivors include his loving sisters and brothers, Gloria Gutierrez and husband Joe, Felix Sassenhagen, Sr. and wife Greg, Willie Sassenhagen, Jr. and wife Caroline, Beatrice Bencomo and husband Paul, Joe Sassenhagen and wife Mary Lou and Jo Ann Sutherland and husband Emilio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Gutierrez, Felix Sassenhagen, Jr., Gabriel Sassenhagen, Arthur Sassenhagen, Michael Carrillo, Ignacio Rodriguez, Greg Machado, Jr., Joseph Ruben Castellanos, Johnny Rodriguez and Rudy Medina, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Cerda, Gary Machado, Sr., Matthew Bencomo and Joe Louis Sassenhagen.
