Joseph "Butch" Brown, age 71 of Seguin, passed away on November 3, 2016. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H U Wood Post 245 in Seguin will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. Butch was born on September 27, 1945 in Seguin to Alvin and Elizabeth (Roemisch) Brown. From a young age Butch loved to be busy and work. Butch went on to serve his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. After his service ended, Butch came back to Seguin and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the State of Texas. Then, to work in assembly at Alamo Group, where he retired after 35 years of service. If it was deer season, however, he was usually in a blind waiting on the whitetail to come. Butch was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. Butch is preceded death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Alice Marie (Bulgerin) Brown; children, Joseph "Scott" Brown, and wife Dawn, Debra Kay Williams, and husband Chris; grandchildren Garrett Brown, Ty Brown, and Tyler Williams; brother Wilburn "Sonny" Brown, and wife Judy; sisters Gladys Dotson, and husband Buddy, Mary Ann Schwerdtfeger and husband Donald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Brown, Chris Williams, Garrett Brown, Ty Brown, David Boos, and Mark Brown. Honorary pallbearer is Tyler Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Legion H U Wood Post 245, PO Box 503, Seguin, TX 78156.
