Judy Tate Ponton, age 67 of Seguin, passed away on March 15, 2011. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 12 noon to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Mr. W. K. Boyce officiating. Interment will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Judy was born on September 15, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Roland Valentine Walden and Ada Alma McFall Walden Jessup. She was a proud graduate of the Incarnate Word Academy Class of 1962 in Corpus Christi. After growing up in Corpus Christi she was a former resident of Austin and has lived in Seguin for the past eleven years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Russell F. Jessup and her sisters, Pat Walden Boyd and Rhoda Walden Speed. Survivors include her husband David Ponton; children, Debbie Tate, Guy Tate, Teri Tate and fiancé Brandon Wade, David W. Ponton and wife Shannon and Gwyn Marie Greenstreet and husband Mark; grandchildren, Aspen, Denver, Tyler, Kaylee and Denton; mother-in-law, Virginia McAngus; sister-in-law, Pat Boyce and husband W.K.; brother-in-law, Terry Ponton and wife Karen; former spouse and father of her children, Lynn Tate and wife Sharon; nieces and nephews, Carl Boyd, Ernest Speed, Janet Church and husband Jimmy, Scott Speed and wife Diane, Mitchell Ponton, Ken, Kevin, and Stephanie Boyce; numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Tate, David Knapp, Gary Gray, Justin Tate, Brandon Wade and Ben Sharp. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Thornton, Danny Joe Danielson, Ronnie McDaniel, Jim Smith, Harold Allen, Bubba Herman and John Morrow.
