Obituary

Julia Moore Land, age 94, of Seguin passed away on May 30, 2023.  She was born on June 16, 1928, in Falfurrias, Texas to Samuel Fulton Moore and his wife Etta Hooper Moore.

Julia enjoyed a successful career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company working her way up the corporate ladder, serving as Chief Operator in Seguin and many other Texas cities.  She retired after twenty-eight years having attained executive status in the real estate side of SWB.

Julia loved to travel the world – especially going on mission trips to various countries including China.  No place on earth grabbed her heart quite like Israel.  She made several trips there and was happiest in the land of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was an avid reader and most of her family and friends were gifted with books that she felt would bless and challenge their lives.  She was known for her generosity and random acts of kindness.

After retirement from SWB, she loved ranching, preparing delicious meals for family and friends, sewing for her great nieces, and being active with her New Life Fellowship church family.

Julia slipped into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of May 30, 2023.

Many have reached out on social media describing her as:

"A true Prayer Warrior and woman of God; A dear friend of God

A true southern lady; An independent, strong woman; One of the best; A true follower of God who was an example for all."

"Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish."  Job 8:7 BSB

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Wade L. Moore; and brothers-in-law Bob Samford and Bobby Cornelius.  Survivors include her sisters, Betty Samford and Billie Cornelius; as well as several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

A celebration of Julia's life will be held on Saturday, June 17th, at 2 pm at New Life Fellowship Church in Seguin with pastors Chris Larson, Layne and Pamela Dietz, and Marty Gabler officiating.  A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Fellowship, PO Box 1928, Seguin, TX  78155, or online at www.newlifeseguin.com.
