Julian "Pop" Rodriguez, Jr., age 80 of Seguin, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2017. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by a memorial prayer service at 5 p.m. Following the memorial prayer service visitation will continue until 6 p.m. Julian was born on July 9, 1936 in Seguin, Texas to Julian, Sr. and Consuelo (Soto) Rodriguez. Julian will be remembered as a long time employee of Holly Farms now Tyson Foods. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers baseball fan. He also was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hortencia Rodriguez, his son, Julian Rodriguez, III, his grandson, Christopher Alvarez, his parents, his brothers, Joe, Ignacio and Frank Rodriguez, and his sister Josefina Fuentes. Survivors include his children, Richard Pena and wife Janie, Billy Rodriguez, Terry Alvarez and husband Gilbert, Elida Pena and husband Marco, and James Rodriguez; grandchildren, Steve Pena and wife Kelsey, Andrea Pena, Celeste Pena, Jennifer Cadena and husband Jake, Marco Pena, Jr. and wife Roxy, Stephanie Pena, Gilbert Alvarez, Jr. and wife Sherri, Alexis Soto and husband Nick, Mikayla Rodriguez and Steven DeLeon; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosie Rodriguez and Angelita Rodriguez; numerous other loving family members.
