June S. Walker, age 86 of Seguin, passed away on January 9, 2011. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Roy officiating. June was born on April 2, 1924 in Park Ridge Illinois to Henry B., Jr. and Edna Fraser Swanson. She proudly served her country as a nurse in the United States Army. She will be remembered as a longtime registered nurse at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. For over 25 years, June was a member of the Mid-Texas Symphony where she played the violin. June is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle T. Walker, Sr., her parents, and her brother, Henry Swanson,III. Survivors include her children, Patricia Cosme and husband Richard, Anne Trevathan and husband John, Frances Anglin and husband Steve, Doyle T. Walker, Jr. and wife Gwen and Nancy Hawkins and husband Kevin; sister, Gloria Buccaci; brother, James Swanson and wife Pat; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
