Karen J. Niedorf, age 63 of Gonzales, passed away on May 20, 2023.   Karen was born on January 14, 1960 in Abilene, Texas to Valeta Joan (Hoermann) and Eugene Rimmer.

Karen will be remembered for her big Texas size heart!  She never met a stranger and was always giving to help others.  She was especially passionate about helping animals, even rescuing them from busy highways when the need occurred.

Karen is preceded in death by her loving son, Randy B. Niedorf, Jr., her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Max Niedorf, sister, Melinda Davis, and her brother-in-law, Patrick Niedorf, and wife, Jane.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Randy B. Niedorf, Sr.; daughter, Valeta M. Dalton, and husband Chris; daughter-in-law, Karina Niedorf; grandson, Angel Niedorf; brother, Randy Rimmer and wife Cathey, brothers-in-law, Mark Davis, and Max F. Niedorf III and wife Frankie; Randy, Jr.'s sister-in-law, Karime DeLuna, and husband Rene; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, beginning at 12 noon at Tres Hewell Mortuary followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert K. Odom officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lone Oak Cemetery in Geronimo.  Serving as pallbearers will be Max Niedorf, Patrick Niedorf, Jonathan Niedorf, Angel Niedorf, Dennis Ricketts, and Rene DeLuna.

A reception will follow at the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center (Big Red Barn).
