Kenneth Earl Haas, age 72 of Seguin, passed away on July 26, 2017. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Luther Oelke and Rev. Brett Becker officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center (Big Red Barn). Kenneth was born on October 21, 1944 in Shiner to Erwin and Evelyn (Meyer) Haas. He graduated from Seguin High School in 1963. The summer after graduation, he began dating Barbara Becker. Although he was off to Sul Ross and she attended Southwest Texas, they continued their courtship through college and were married on June 17, 1967. Kenneth and Barbara settled back into Seguin and raised their two children, Amy and Trevor. Kenneth went to work for Barbara's father at Becker's Feed and Fertilizer. Kenneth later took over the store and continued to work until he passed the legacy onto his son. Outside of the feed store, Kenneth loved to hunt and fish. He took yearly trips to Colorado during deer season. He was also a gifted artist and avid woodworker. Kenneth devoted much of his free time to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Don Becker and Lynn Kassner. Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Barbara Becker Haas; children, Amy Hannibal and husband, Burke, Trevor Haas and wife, M'Liss; grandchildren, Huston, Hayden, and Holt Haas, Corbin and Caitlyn Hannibal; sister Connie Kassner; sisters-in-law, Ann Lindemann and husband, James, and Emma Jean Becker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Arlon Kirchner, David Moltz, Clayton Roberson, John Anderson, Bradley Lindemann, and Wiley Haas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Rebecek, James Lindemann, Leroy Alves, and Gary Rainwater. Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel's Lutheran Church, 206 N.
