Lamar Clanton, age 79 of Seguin, passed away on July 15, 2014. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ed Bilderback officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Lamar was born on April 15, 1935 in Luling, Texas to Norman Louis and Lillian (Doyle) Clanton. He proudly served as an electrician for 45 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 60 in San Antonio for over 55 years. He enjoyed cars, old or new, whether it be painting them or working on them mechanically. He also loved spending time with his dog, Rusty. His loving wife of 45 years, Marian Clanton, his parents, grandson, Cameron Clanton, sister, Betty Duffey, brother-in-law, Henry Koerth precede him in death. Survivors include his son, Greg Clanton and wife, Kristy; daughters, Angie Henk and husband, Leon and Norma Mertz and husband, Trevor; sister-in-law, Carolyn Koerth; brother-in-law, Jim Duffey; grandchildren, Katelynn, Kasey, Amber, Heather, Emma, T. J. and Abi; nieces, Linda Tellez and husband Danny, and Dana Walters; nephew, Wayne Koerth and wife, Jeannie; numerous other loving family members.
