Obituary

Larry Morawietz, former Guadalupe Co. Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 passed away on June 12, 2013 in San Antonio, at the age of 73. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The recitation of the rosary will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Larry was born on October 26, 1939 in Seguin Hospital to Louis T. and Willie Mae nee Engbrock Morawietz. He spent his grade school years at St. Joseph Catholic School. He graduated from Seguin High School in 1957 and attended Texas Lutheran College. He then served honorably for US Army. Larry joined the Guadalupe County Sheriffs Department in 1972, retiring in 1996. Then he served as third generation Justice of Peace for the next 12 years. He is preceded by his parents. Survivors include his brother Donald and wife Barbara of Seguin; sisters, Mary Hunter and husband Cleve of Kerrville and Betty Jean Ponsford and husband Reggie of Yucca Valley, CA and numerous nieces and nephews, along with host of friends from all walks of life. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 510 S.
