Larry Nelson, age 52 of Seguin, passed away on September 26, 2011. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev Paul J. Zwarich and Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held in the New Sweden Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Sweden Texas at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Hahns Lillejard officiating. Larry was born on January 23, 1959 in Seguin Texas to Lester Curtis and Lois Moden Nelson. Larry was a graduate of Seguin High School Class of 1979. He remained a huge Matador Fan and and had a large collection of SHS yearbooks. Larry was a long time employee of Weyel Buick and presently a faithful and long time employee of Wal-Mart where he developed many friendships among co-workers and customers alike. He loved supporting the Matadors and Texas Longhorns. He enjoyed reading and collecting Walt Disney characters. Survivors include his sister, Carol Ann Nelson of Austin; extended family, LaNell, Amy, Jeffrey and Kendra Gibbs; Sara and Kit Chenault; Carolyn Sutton. Serving as pallbearers will be Gina Brannies, Kit Chenault, Jack Day, Joel Day, Leigh Falk, Amy Gibbs, Jeffrey Gibbs, Kendra Gibbs, Carolyn Sutton, and Wayde Walker. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry's co-workers at Wal-Mart and the Guadalupe County MHMR Staff. Larry's loving, gentle spirit with both people and animals will not be forgotten. Go Mats!
