Larry Eugene Rinehart, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on January 6, 2025.

Larry was born on March 20, 1942 in Houston, Texas to Robert Eugene and Mary Margaret (Mobley) Rinehart. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Larry was an avid fisherman, an exceptional dancer and always had an adventurous spirit. He was a sea captain for many years, part of the iron workers union and was an expert marksman in the U.S. Marines. He was also a devoted husband, doting father, grandfather and great grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Rinehart and Mary Margaret (Mobley) Rinehart, son, Kyle Rinehart, brother, Laney Rinehart and daughter-in-law, Michelle Rinehart.

Survivors include his loving wife, Maria A. Rinehart; his children, Les Rinehart, Gina Rinehart and husband Rafael Carrales , Casey Rinehart and wife Sarah, Jennifer Rinehart and husband Ben Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Theresa Rinehart; grandchildren, Kelsey, Audrey, Kayla, Sarah, Nicole, Timothy, Clark, Patrick, Jack, Mila, Noah, baby Shoemaker & 6 great grandchildren; sister, Lois A. Fisher; brother, Yancey Rinehart; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m.  A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Rinehart, Les Rinehart, Ben Shoemaker, Rafael Carrales, Jorge Rodriguez, Todd Bagby and Paul Shoemaker.  Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Bannister.
