Lauren Kay Langbein Woerndel of Seguin, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2018 at the age of 40. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 – 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2PM at Redeemer United Church in Zuehl with Rev. Lee Zillmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Redeemer United Church Cemetery.
Lauren was born on September 20, 1978 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Karen and Larry Langbein and grew up in Sisterdale, Texas. After graduation from Comfort High School in 1997, she attended Sul Ross State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She then attended Tarleton State University and earned her Master's degree in Animal Reproduction. Lauren influenced many lives as a teacher and worked at Cuero, Seguin, Marion and Stockdale. She especially loved her time teaching Agriculture and being an FFA Advisor at Marion and Stockdale.
She loved spending time with her boys; whether they were showing pigs, sheep or chickens. Lauren's favorite thing was to work with them in the barn with their animals. She loved cheering the boys on at their sporting events- baseball, cross country, soccer, fishing, etc.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Woerndel; sons Hayden and Weston Woerndel; parents, Larry Langbein and Karen Katzer; sisters, Lori Hohmann (Christopher) and Kari Beth Langbein; nephew Cooper Hohmann; father-in-law, Harvey Woerndel; sister-in-law, Kimberly Story; and numerous cousins and extended family. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin and Lela Katzer and Herbert and Carmen Langbein, cousin, Michaela Katzer, mother-in-Law, Loretta Woerndel, niece, Haleigh Story and brother-in-law, Douglas Story.
The family would like to thank the local FFA Chapters and the communities for their outpouring of support. A special thank you to the local FFA supporters for providing all flowers for the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Heimann, Kevin Katzer, Brad Badders, Charles Ely, Dennis Kucherka, Charles Kucherka, James Kucherka, Chad Swanson and Kelly Weber.
