Lawrence "Larry" Friesenhahn, age 73 of McQueeney, passed away on June 23, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be held on July 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Lawrence was born on April 3, 1942 in Seguin, Texas, to Paul and Gertrude (Borgfeld) Friesenhahn. He was a graduate of Seguin High School class of 1960, then served six years in the Air Force Reserves. He retired in 2011 after more than 50 years of service at CMC Steel in Seguin, where he impacted so many lives as a mentor and leader. He was a charter member of McQueeney Lions Club, and served as an active member until 2010. Larry enjoyed fishing, traveling, gambling, gardening, and golfing, but mostly spending time with his friends and family; especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Friesenhahn. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce Friesenhahn; children, Christina "Kristie" Jenkins, Kerry Scheel and husband Robert "Robbie" Scheel; grandchildren, Colton Jenkins, Preston Scheel, Lainie Manero and Connor Scheel; mother, Gertrude Friesenhahn; siblings, Patricia "Pat" Kempf, Robert "Bob" Friesenhahn and wife Joan, Daniel "Danny" Friesenhahn and wife Kyle and Raymond "Ricky" Friesenhahn and wife Shellie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
