Obituary

Lenroe Allen "Pete" Beicker was born September 17, 1931 in the community known as the Capote Community of Guadalupe County, to Gustav Beicker Sr. and Hilda Harbot Beicker. Lenroe departed this life on January 13, 2013 at the age of 81. He attended Jahns School as a child and when it consolidated he attended Dowdy ISD and later graduated from Seguin High School in 1951, and was drafted into the military and joined the U.S. Navy. After completing many engine and technical schools he became a flight engineer on the huge PBM amphibious air rescue planes and was stationed in Corpus Christi. On July 8, 1953 he married his high school sweet heart, Elizabeth Ann Williams. They were married for 59 years. After leaving the U.S. Navy, Lenroe worked for the U.S. Air Force/Civil Service for 36 years as a technician on various piston and jet engines including the C-5 A. He received many awards for his outstanding work. He traveled extensively throughout the Pacific area and the continental United States. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn four children. Daughter Janice Wright and husband Phillip, son David Lenroe and wife Shelly, son Jeffery Allen and wife Barbara, daughter Bonnie Hammock and husband Doug. Seven grandchildren: Sarah Wright Bradshaw and husband Michael, Zeb Wright and wife Sally, Josh Beicker and wife Lia, Ethan Beicker, Bryce Beicker, Kambra Beicker, and Jason Beicker. Three great grandchildren: Haiden Wiley, Elli Beicker, Klaire Bradshaw. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lenroe professed his faith in Christ and joined Emanuel's Lutheran Church in 1946 where he helped start a group called Property Stewarts, which took care of all the maintenance problems at Emanuel's. Lenroe was a faithful member until his illness prevented him from attending church. Lenroe was a member of NARFE where he served as President for over 10 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Hilda and Gustav Beicker Sr, a brother Gustav Beicker Jr, a brother Rennie Glen Beicker, a sister Lenora Rose Mielke, a sister Leora Erna Moore, and a grandson Jonathan Allen Beicker. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zeb Wright, Jason Beicker, Josh Beicker, Ethan Beicker, Bryce Beicker and Gus Beicker III. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Moore Jr, Sidney Mielke and Dennie Beicker.
