Leo V. Tankersley, age 89 of Seguin, passed away on October 1, 2016. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mitch Kolenovsky officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Leo was born on August 26, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to Ernest and Georgia (Whitehead) Tankersley. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Exxon Oil Co. after a long career in the oil and gas industry. He was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. Leo is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Wendell, Bill, Donald, Bob and Jim Tankersley. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce P. Voigt Tankersley; sons, Rev. Michael Tankersley and wife Barbara, and Gary Tankersley and wife Kim; grandchildren, Jessica Murphy and husband Pete, Kasey Lucas and husband Jay, Lauren Tankersley and Megan Tankersley; great grandchildren, Ava, Myla, Levi, Jack, and Asa; sisters-in-law, Audie Tankersley and Mary Ann Gross; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
