Obituary

Leona (Nana) Fritz Kunde-Zwicke, age 97 of New Berlin, passed away on January 24, 2013. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer United Church at Zuehl with Rev. Lee Zillmann and Rev. Gerald Metzger officiating. Interment will follow in the Redeemer United Church Cemetery. Leona was born on January 1, 1916 in Cibolo, Texas to Carl and Flora Elley Fritz. She will be remembered as a lifetime resident of Guadalupe County. She enjoyed farming and ranching along side her family. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Max Kunde, Sr., and Arno B. Zwicke, her sons, Louis Kunde, Jr. and William C. Kunde, her parents, her siblings, Arno Fritz, Linda Coble, Andrew Fritz, Marvin Fritz, Bertha Schultz, Lillian Odenwelder, and Louis Fritz, her step-son, Gary Zwicke and step great-granddaughter, Faith Zwicke. Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Arlene Kunde and Bonnie Kunde; grandchildren, Nancy Meadows and husband Floyd, Butch Kunde and wife Grace, Sharon Offer and husband Gilbert, Brenda Kunde and husband Tommy Pierce, Kirk Kunde, Keith Kunde and wife Casey and Bubba Kunde and Jamie Hunt; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; her other loving family, Karen Antony and husband Tony, Wayne Zwicke and wife Ruth, Laverne Soefje and husband Harold, Yvonne Baumann and husband Larry, Douglas Zwicke and wife Rita, Dennis Zwicke and wife Beth, Gerald Zwicke and Donna Wosnig, Arnold Zwicke and wife Sherrell and Aubrey Zwicke and wife Jeannie and all their families; her loving caregivers, Gloria Carranza and Janie Carranza; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. The Family would like to thank Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services, Akin Ambulance, Rev. Gerald Metzger, Chaplain Jeremy Roy for their loving care and visits to Nana. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
