Leroy Beicker, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on April 9, 2013. A memorial service celebrating Leroy's life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Paul M. Cross and Mr. Harry Dietz, Sr. officiating and military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corp. A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center at Faith Lutheran Church. Private interment will be held at a later date. Leroy was born in Lockhart Texas on January 13, 1930 to Hugo and Wanda Beicker. Leroy grew up in Seguin He attended Draughons Business College in San Antonio. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He married Doris Lee Junker, the love of his life, nearly 65 years ago on August 1, 1948 in Cuero Texas. Upon returning from the service, Leroy worked with his father fabricating and erecting numerous steel buildings in the Seguin area. In 1971 he began working for Mesco Metal Buildings, Grapevine. He retired in February 1995. He was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel's Lutheran Church. He and Doris joined Faith Lutheran Church in 2005. He was a member of the Guadalupe Sheriff's Mounted Posse, a volunteer fireman, the Silver Center, the Cushman Motor Cycle Club, the Elks Club, 20-30 Club, and the Noon Lions Club. He loved horses, loved ranching and farming, specialty welding and spending time with his family and friends whether it be snow skiing, hunting or fishing. Leroy enjoyed attending the Seguin High School Class of 1948 reunions.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Thusnelda Weniger and husband, Frank and Irene Adele Beicker, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ella and Fred Junker, his sister-in-law, Darleen Cornett and husband Arlen, and his son-in-law, Tom McGriff. Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Lee Junker Beicker; daughter, Sandi Beicker McGriff; sons, Jim Beicker and wife Mary, Donny Beicker and wife Cathy and Davy Beicker and wife Lynn; 10 grandchildren, Shelly Park, Cathy Fontenot (David), April Rodriquez (Raul), Jeffrey Park, Kari Egg (Jeremy), Krista Rauschuber (Ryan), Brent Beicker (Katie), Clint Beicker (Amy), Bryan Beicker and Lacey Beicker; 15 great-grandchildren, Keara Park, Gage, Nicky and Cameron Fontenot, Gracie Park, Peyton Lark, Cory Hallman, Conley and Cole Savage, Tyler and Travis Egg, Brinley and Brylen Beicker, Bliss Beicker and Ally Rauschuber; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Leroy enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1326 E.
