Leroy Albert Mattke, age 86 of Bessie, Oklahoma, formerly of Guadalupe County, passed away on May 22, 2012. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 followed by funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion HU Wood Post 245 will follow in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery of Elm Creek. Leroy was born on September 15, 1925 in Guadalupe County to the late Alfred Louis and Bertha (Doege) Mattke. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II and again in the Korean Conflict. Leroy worked with an oilfield seismographic company for many years and traveled to many different areas. Survivors include his daughter, Connie May and son-in-law, Justin Hileman; son, Larry Scott Mattke; grandson, Shane Donovan Hileman and Micah; great-grandson, Wylder Chase Hileman; brother, Alton Mattke; sisters, Rosalie Mattke, Evelyn (Helmuth) Friedeck, Betty Lou Mollenhauer, Gladys (Cleburn) Roecker, Irene Cheatham and a host of other relatives. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife Irene (Rider) Mattke, his parents, his brothers-in-law, Charlie Mollenhauer and James Cheatham. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Hileman, Dwayne Mattke, Roger Friedeck, Steve Woodard, Randy Roecker and Justin Cheatham.
