Leslie R. (Les) Koontz, age 73 of Seguin, passed away on September 12, 2010. Visitation will begin on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Seguin followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville and Rev. Neil Kibbe officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Les was born on April 13, 1937 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Ray L. and Bertha P. Jones Koontz. Les retired from Motorola where he worked both in Quincy, Illinois and Seguin, Texas. He will be remembered as an avid traveler and avid golfer. He always enjoyed his "Monday Coffee Club" at the Dairy Queen. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Robbie Hild. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Marilyn Koontz; daughters, Kathy Slee and husband Dave of Quincy, Ill; Barbara O'Brien and husband Don of Phoenix, AZ; Lisa Robbins and husband Rick of Seguin; son, Alan Koontz and wife Stephanie of Seguin; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Slee and wife Candace, Nathan Slee and wife Missy, Jordan Slee and wife Shannon, Jenna Slee, Emma Ridley, Connor O'Brien; Dana Robbins Davis and husband Stuart, Lindsay Robbins; Jessica Allstott, Leah Allstott and Conner Allstott; 3 great-grandchildren, Gaby Wagner, Gavin Slee and Grant Slee; sister, Judy Wakefield and husband Rich; nephews, Dave Hild and wife Teresa and Steve Hild and wife Julie; special nurse, Ginger Wilson Ward.
