Linda Gayle Smith

Linda Gayle Smith, age 79 of Kingsbury, passed away on March 9, 2026. Linda was born on February 9, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana to Georgia May (Lannert) and Dorris Willard Ghormley.

Linda worked at Texas State University for 18 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sherry Dominguez.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, James W. Smith; son, Michael Peoples and wife Rosemary; daughter, Laurie Ann Rathgeber and husband Charles; grandchildren, Christine, Ashley, and Kameron; four great-grandchildren, Lyla Belle, Meadow Anastasia, Elowyn, and Elena; other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Victor Garcia officiating.
