Ludie Louise Hopper, age 89 of Seguin, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 25, 2017. Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 1 PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Megan Trout officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Creek Community Cemetery. Ludie was born on June 2, 1928 in Concho County, Texas to George and Alma Jane (Hamilton) Gentry. She graduated from High School in Eola, Texas. Ludie married her high school sweetheart, Lee, and together they spent 61 years together, in El Paso, San Antonio, and finally Seguin, until his death in 2007. Ludie worked as a pre-school teacher and dress-maker, specifically the Fiesta Dresses. She, along with 3 other ladies, were responsible for making the 6 dresses yearly, a job she loved doing. Her greatest and most fulfilling job was that of wife and full-time mother to her husband and sons. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Crawford Hopper. Ludie is survived by her sons, Rodger Hopper and wife, Patty, and Gary Hopper and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Shari Schroeder and husband, Alex, Shannon Hopper, Dallas Hopper and wife, Crystal, and Ashley Hopper; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Hopper, Kyle Law, Devon and Dylan Schroeder, Olive Grace Duhamel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members. Serving as pallbearers will be Dallas Hopper, Larry Clark, Gary Hopper, Rodger Hopper, Alex Schroeder, and John Calentine III.
