Luis Rey Lopez, Sr., age 56 of Seguin, Texas passed away on July 28, 2020 was born in Mexico City, Mexico on August 23, 1963 to Delfino and Alfonsina Lopez. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosalinda Lopez. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Lori Ann Lopez; children, Evelin (Albert) Gonzales, Ray Lopez, Natalie Lopez (Ricardo Ramos), Luis (Kelsie) Lopez, Jr., Jeffrey Urquiza, Dillon (Stephanie) Perez, Leah Ann Lopez and Lacy Lopez; 18 grandchildren; brothers, Victor (Yanie) Lopez, Herman Lopez, Rick (Nellie) Lopez; sister Angelica Lopez and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Luis was a loving husband, father and was the best grandfather. He was a father figure to all who came through his door, lending a hand or giving sound advice to anyone (whether it was needed or not). Luis was a rock for his family, he was a fierce provider and hard worker. Luis was a very caring man, a helper to neighbors. He enjoyed family trips to Corpus, music, and family gatherings with family and friends. Luis overcame a lot in life, which made him ready to take on any challenge he faced head on. With his powerful beliefs, his tough and strong will to fight he was a true overcomer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. then Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery. Due to Covid – 19 restrictions all CDC protocol must be followed including social distancing and face coverings required at both the church and cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Robert S. Trevino, Joe Soto, Rick Zamora, Christopher Flores, Rene Leal, Paul Samarripa and Juan Flota. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be, Luis Ray Lopez Jr., and Ernesto Perez Sr.
