Manuel V. Gaitan, age 74 of Seguin, passed away on July 28, 2008. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Private graveside services and interment will follow at a later date at Santo Tomas Cemetery. Manuel was born on December 25, 1933 in Galle, Texas to Procoro and Maria Velasquez Gaitan. Manuel's loving wife of 43 years, Diamantina Gaitan, preceded him in death as did his parents and sister, Cruz Rios. Survivors include his loving wife of three years, Lilia Arce Gaitan of Seguin; children, Diamantina (Dia) Gaitan of Seguin, Michael Gaitan of Atlanta, Ga., Alfredo Arce of San Antonio, Cindy Arce Shaddix of Austin and Rene Arce of Houston; granddaughter, Nicole Saenz; brothers, Antonio, Theodoro, and Enrique Gaitan; sisters, Carmen Stovall, Geneva del Toro, Isabel Resendez, Margaret Strong, Gela Martinez, Vicenta Creel, and Julia Villareal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a dedicated truck driver, a caring, giving, loving man to his family and friends.
