Obituary

Manuel Eugene Yosko, of Sequin was born on January 11, 1938, in Runge Texas to Florian and Rosie (Reiman) Yosko and passed away at the age of 87 on March 12, 2025.

He graduated from Karnes City High School in 1956 where he played football, ran track and was a member of FFA. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Coldewey, on September 7, 1958. He then became a TV repairman and in 1964, he went to work for Lone Star Gas Company (later Ensearch) for 32 years, retiring as plant supervisor.  He also sold Hochheim Prairie Insurance for 8 years.  They had their son Larry in 1959 and their daughter Shellie in 1961 and lived on the farm near Karnes City where they farmed, ranched and raised registered Brahman cattle. Known for his gentle breeding stock, Mary Ann would often find him sitting on the water trough with the calves all around him.  After retiring, they moved to Seguin.

An active member of his community, Manuel umpired Little League and was a director of the Karnes City Youth Livestock Show and the Kenedy Farmer's Cooperative. He served on the Karnes County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, was the president of the Lenz and Karnes City Hermann Sons Lodge for 20 years and was a member of the American and Texas Brahman Breeders Associations and the McQueeney Lions Club.  A faithful member of his church, he served as usher and on the parish council in Karnes City and Seguin and was a Grand Knight, serving the St. Cornelius and St. James Knights of Columbus and a faithful navigator at St. James.

Manuel and his wife of 66 years loved to dance. They lead many Grand Marches for weddings. They also enjoyed camping and traveling. They escorted tours all over the U.S. for Elsie's Tours and Acclaim Tours until 2010.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Gladys Ebrom and Florence Scarborough.
