Maria G. Almaguer, age 69 of Seguin, passed away on December 18, 2017. Visitation will begin at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 5 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at Bethel Cladic Church in Seguin followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Juan Cavazos officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Maria was born on September 29, 1948 in Monterrey, Mexico to Juan and Lydia (Escobedo) Nunez. Maria retired from Hexcel in Seguin after many years of employment. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to all her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Janie Valdez and her brother Chacho Nunez. Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Julio Almaguer; children, Johnny Almaguer, Sr. and wife Irma, Lily Aguilar and husband Joaquin, and Julie Salamanca and husband Luis; siblings, Martha Moreno, Juan Nunez, Jr., Miguel Nunez and wife Maria, and Bertha Moreno and husband Tony; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Almaguer, Jr., Julio Cesar Almaguer, Jacob Almaguer, Joaquin Aguilar, Jonathan Aguilar, Brandon Salamanca, Louis Salamanca, and Daniel Salamanca. Honorary pallbearer will be Jaydon Aguilar.
