Maria G. Johnston, age 88 of Seguin, passed away on December 20, 2021.  Maria was born on January 24, 1933 in Mexico to Maria Nieves (Ramirez) and Chon Shu.

Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband Charlie Johnston, Jr., her son, Robert Johnston, her daughter, Frances Johnston, her grandson, Ruben Perez, II, her parents, and four siblings.

Survivors include her children, Gracie J. Cadena, Edward Johnston, and Helen Perez and husband Ruben; grandchildren, Nikki Marshall and husband Shawn, Meghan Woodruff and husband Dakeem Coleman, Michelle Johnston, Teresa Cadena, Marie Johnston, Yvette Del Bosque and husband Jose, Jorge Cadena, Delicia McCamon and husband Robert, Robert Johnston and wife Rosie, Joshua Perez, and John Johnston; numerous great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.  Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Johnston, Ruben Perez, Jorge Cadena, Robert Johnston, Joshua Perez, and Armando Garza and in memoriam Ruben Perez, II.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
