Maria Elena Santos, age 84 of Seguin, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her four loving children, on April 5, 2025.  Born on April 10, 1940 in Kingsville, Texas to Julia (San Miguel) and Geronimo R. Marin, she will spend her first happy heavenly birthday with her husband who preceded her in death.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Miguel J. "Mike" Santos, Sr., her son, Mike Santos, Jr., her parents and numerous siblings.

Survivors include her children, Pete Santos, Christy Rico and husband Johnny Sanchez, Daniel Santos and wife Norma, and Carlos Santos, Sr. and wife Velia; daughter-in-law, Irene Guerra and husband Tony; siblings, Reymundo Marin and wife Mary, Juan Manuel Marin and wife Mary, and Ysabel Salcido; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family member and many friends.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 12 noon at St. James Catholic Church followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating and the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Canon Stanislaw Fiuk officiating.  Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jakob Cardenas, Xavier Santos, Carlos Santos, Jr., Christopher Santos, Michael Santos, Jedediah "Jeddy" Santos, and Tyler Santos.  Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Santos and Johnny Sanchez.
