Maria A. "Susie" Rodriguez, age 96 of Seguin, passed away on September 28, 2018. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by the recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Susie was born on February 25, 1922 in General Teran, Mexico to Isaac and Rosa (Gonzalez) Serna. Susie was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was a member of the Guadalupanas. Susie is preceded in death by her husband Antonio Rodriguez, her parents, her sister, Chriselda Leal, her brothers, Isaac Serna and Hector Serna and son-in-law, Justo Chapa. Survivors include her sister, Louisa Guerrero; daughters, Elizabeth Chapa and Cynthia Corona and her husband David Corona; grandchildren, Isa Shimek and husband Shawn, Veronica Shields and husband Shawn, Blanca Corona, Orlando Corona and Carlos Chapa; great grandchildren, Marissa Shimek, Megan Bateman, Alexis Shields, Shawn Anthony Shields and Ashley Grace Shields; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
