Maria Elena Tarnava, age 66 of Seguin, passed away on February 6, 2013. Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. Maria was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 19, 1946 to Servando and Consuelo Garcia Longoria. She retired from Civil Service at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. Survivors include her husband Ralph B. Tarnava; sons, Ralph B. Tarnava, Jr. and wife Alyson, Christopher Tarnava; grandchildren, Maria Diane Tarnava, Ralph B. Tarnava, III and Staley A. Tarnava; great-grandchild, Ernest David Cortez; siblings, Esther Flint, Daniel Castilla and Stevie Castilla; aunt, Josephine Lanum; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members. Memorial contributions may be made to any women's shelter charity of choice.
