Master Chief Mark Douglas Simpson, USN (Ret.) age 59 of Seguin, passed away on August 4, 2010. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 11 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Bauerkemper officiating. A reception will follow in the Faith Lutheran Activity Center. Graveside services and interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Mark was born on December 16, 1950 in Barksdale Air Force Base, Barksdale, Louisiana to Wilburn Douglas and Constance Louise Rhodes Simpson. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Marta M. Simpson; son, John D. Simpson; daughter, Christina Keltner and husband Bob; sister, Margaret Ann Simpson; brother, David L. Simpson and wife Patty; grandchildren, Mariah and Richard Keltner; nieces, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Simpson. Serving as pallbearers will be David Simpson, Bob Keltner, John Pecan, Richard (Chick) Martinez, James Garcia and Jose Ortiz.
