Obituary

Marsha Diane Head Brown, age 64 of Seguin passed away on February 3, 2012. A celebration of Marsha's life will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. A reception will follow in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Marsha was born on May 6, 1947 to Jesse B. and Dorothy A. Head in Crystal City, Texas. She attended and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio. She was wed to William G. (Bill ) Brown on August 15, 1966. Marsha was a member at First Baptist Church. She served in Sunday school as worker and member, Children's Church and Sanctuary Choir. Marsha was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed working in her yard, decorating in her home, entertaining and arts and crafts. Marsha had a gift of visualizing and creating, which was very gratifying to her, and her family. Marsha was also a very hard worker who seemed driven to finish her project only to start another. Marsha had an innocence and child-like quality that she never lost. She was stricken with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12 and dealt with the effects of the disease for the rest of her life. She fought a tireless battle with diet and a lot of exercise, but the diabetes was too destructive. Preceding Marsha in death were her parents and her husband's parents, Glen and Janie Brown. Marsha is survived by her husband of 45 years, William G. (Bill) Brown; son, Bradley Brown; sisters, Gina Touchstone and Darlene Dornak; brothers, Byron Head and Jesse J. Head; several nieces and nephews. Marsha will be missed by her family and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1314 E. Cedar, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the American Diabetes Association, San Antonio Texas Office, 8610 N. New Braunfels, Suite 400, San Antonio, Texas, 78217.
