Martha H. Hewitt, age 80 of Seguin, passed away on September 16, 2009. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Seguin with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville and Rev. Jeff Humphrey officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Sinton Cemetery in Sinton at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Vire officiating. Martha was born on December 16, 1928 in Baytown, Texas to Clyde and Fannie Thelma Cooper Humes. Martha attended Mary Hardin Baylor University and will be remembered as the Office Manager at San Patricio County Electric Co-Op. She was an active member and Past State President of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. "Sug" as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin B. Moore and Barney R. Hewitt, her parents, sisters and brothers, Maurine Humes, Mack Humes, Billy Humes, Fern Callen and Pat Humes. Survivors include her daughters, Robin Smith and husband, Mark and Twylli Kopecky; son, Barney W. Hewitt and wife, Neva; grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Erin Smith, Lea Odom and husband, Thomas and Aron Hewitt; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jack and Mallory Odom; sister, Sue Humphrey and husband, Ronnie; sister-in-law, Barbara Humes;nieces, Phillis Ruschaaupt and husband, Glenn, Pam Acker and husband, Tommy; nephews, Gary Humes and wife, Beverly and Jeff Humphrey and wife, Lisa; numerous other nieces and nephews.
