Martha Lea Ranft, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on September 11, 2008. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery with Chaplain Jeremy Roy officiating. Martha Lea was born on February 21, 1931 in Guadalupe County to Arno C. Dietert and Norma Bertha Braune Schievelbein. Her parents precede her in death as do her granddaughter, Crystal Scholl and great-granddaughter, Magnolia Castro. Survivors include her husband, John L. Ranft; children, William Scholl and wife, Pat, Kenneth Scholl, Lyndon Scholl and wife, Helen, Dennis Ranft and wife, Rhonda, J. D. Ranft and wife, Terri, Diane Syamken and husband, David and George Ranft and wife, Sandy; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Tschoepe and Gloria Reininger; uncle, William Braune; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
