Mary Jane Browning Baker, age 93 of Austin, formerly of San Antonio, passed away on April 9, 2018. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. David Blanco officiating. Mary Jane was born on July 2, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Walter Irvin and Emma Rebecca (Olson) Browning. Mary Jane and Forest were active members of Coker United Methodist Church in San Antonio. Mary Jane is preceded in death by her loving husband, Col. Forest E. Baker, USAF (Ret.), her daughter, Cindy Baker, her parents, her brother, Michael Browning, and sister, Ruth Bonds and husband Elmer. Survivors include her daughters, Becky Baze and husband Col. Wallace B. Baze, DVM., USA (Ret.), Cheryl Powell, and Debbie Brown Killian and husband Tito; grandchildren, Stacey Baze Sebring and husband Ryan, Charlie Baze, Austin Brown, Cindy Powell, Jenny Powell, Alex Powell and Capt. Michael Wayne Baze, USN and wife Chandra; great-grandchildren, Emma and Alex Sebring; brother, Bob Browning and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Dolly Browning; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other loving family members and friends.
