The Kelso family moved to Seguin in 2008 where Mary served as Deputy Clerk under Guadalupe County Clerk Teresa Kiel. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Chief Kevin Kelso, Seguin Police Department, daughters, Ashton Kelso and fiancé Westley Kelly, Krysta Kelso and Kassidy Kelso; mother, La Nell Natho; father, Wilbert Hengst and wife Kathy; brothers, Ronald Hengst and wife LeAnne, Michael Hengst and wife Linda, Richard Hengst and wife Mary and Mark Hengst and wife Jenna; mother-in-law, Pat Yeschke and husband Bill; father-in-law, James Kelso and wife Loretta; sister-in-law, Tammy Bell and husband Keith; brothers-in-law, Shannon Kelso and Brandon Kelso and wife Julie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One of the many qualities of Mary that will forever be remembered by her loved ones' is her never-ending smile. Mary's smile could light up even the darkest rooms, and she always had a smile on her face even in the toughest times of her fight. Mary was also known by her compassionate, loving, and caring personality. Mary never met a stranger, and holds a special place in the hearts of every single person who was blessed to know Mary. Mary was the ultimate "supermom", always going above and beyond her motherly duties of caring for her husband and three girls. Mary was the biggest family cheerleader, always backing up her husband and daughters' every achievement. She always thought about the well-being of others before she thought about her own. Mary has impacted the lives of many people, and will forever be greatly missed. "The heart remembers..." Serving as pallbearers will be Felton White, Robert Rogers, Keith Bell, Wade Pape, Jason Natho, and Adam Hengst.
