Mary Lakey, age 82 of Dewville, passed away on March 19, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Church in Seguin with Rev. Mike Rodriguez and Rev. Don Wiehe officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewville Cemetery. Mary was born on August 13, 1934 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Walter and Emma (Crenwelge) Sultemeier. Mary was a graduate of Fredericksburg High School, class of 1952, where she was voted class favorite and was also a member of the Pep Squad. Mary married Bobby Doyle Lakey on October 21, 1967. Mary was employed at 3-H construction from April 1984 until her retirement in August 2009. Upon her retirement, Mary devoted much time to her favorite things; hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends at the beach. Mary remained an active member of Hillcrest Church and loved her church family and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby; her parents; brothers Nathan Sultemeier, and Raymond Sultemeier. Mary is survived by her children, Darryl Baethge and wife, Cherryl, DeWayne Baethge and wife, Melissa, Kathy Seeger and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Robby Baethge and wife Melissa, Kenny Baethge and wife Jen, Jennifer Lott and husband Simon, Jessica Westerholm and husband Brandon, Nicole Baethge, Jeff Seeger and wife Kelly, Scott Seeger and wife Adriana; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Robby Baethge, Kenny Baethge, Simon Lott, Jeff Seeger, Scott Seeger, and Brandon Westerholm. Honorary Pallbearers are Marvin Wayne Hester, Walter (Dub) Hester, Douglas (Bubba) Hester, and Rickie Hester.
