Mary Martinez passed away peacefully at home in the loving presence of her family. Mary was born December 23, 1946, in Seguin, Texas to Trinidad (Aguilar) and Valentin Arriola, Sr.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Valentin Arriola, Jr.

Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe Martinez; sisters, Christine Olvera and Linda Cervantes (Lorenzo); nieces and nephews; Valentin Arriola III, Sam Olvera (Crystal), Sonya Olvera (Tracie), Teddy Arriola (LeAnne), Eddie Arriola (Rosanna), Lenny Cervantes (Cecilia) and Adriana Moreno (Luis), numerous other loving family members and friends.

Mary was a blessing to all who were able to know her. She took joy in spending time with her family, baking, shopping trips and just simply working in her garden. Most of all she loved hugs from her husband. She was the founding member of Teatro De Artes.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Seguin with Pastor Ray Perales officiating. Interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Olvera, Lenny Cervantes, Teddy Arriola, Luis Moreno, Ryan Pizarro, and Joseph Olvera.
